As we implement ACR, or Advanced Cardiac Resusitation, you may notice a few new things. We will be talking a lot about Hands-Only CPR for the public and AED placement and usage. We will be distributing new equipment and training to our Fire Departments and First Responders in the County.
If we are performing CPR on your family member, it may be perplexing to see some of the approaches we will use to try to give your loved one the best chance of survival. We will likely remain on scene for at least 20 minutes before transporting, ensuring high quality CPR during that time. We may place them in an upright position with a mechanical CPR device. We may take a blood pressure during CPR even though they do not have a pulse. As always, if you have any questions or want to learn more, please call or stop by the station.
